About the photographer

This is a photo blog by me- Feargal Norton, where I will be posting some of my better shots from around Galway and sometimes further afield.  I’m a film school graduate with a wish to create interesting images that others might enjoy taking a look at. I’ve also created this site as a gallery for some of my work for anybody who’s interested in buying my work, or making use of my photographic services.  I enjoy straight photography, so all of my shots were created without the aid of Photoshop. My photographs are available in a variety of print sizes and styles, or as high quality digital files.  If you’d like to make use of my photographic services, or if you’re interested in using, buying, or exhibiting any of my work, then please visit my website at www.zootimaging.com, or call me @ (00353)(086)3296017. Also check out my profile @ www.modelmayhem.com/zootshooter if you’re interested in working with me on a model shoot. Or, you can keep up to date with my work by following me on twitter. All photographs on this site are the property of Feargal Norton, if you would like to use any of my images for personal use then I’m happy for you to do so as long as you please let me know. If you require any of my images for commercial use then drop me a line or check out my stock site. I have recently began selling stock images on alamy.com, this is very much a project in incubation right now, but if you would like to use my images commercially then this may be the easiest way to purchase my work- Stock photography by feargal norton at Alamy. Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope that you enjoy my images, cause I sure do like capturing them.

I’ve also just signed up to pinterest which seems to be a pretty interesting new way of bookmarking and following interesting things on the web. To follow me click below.

  3. Howdy Feargal,

Hope you’re having a great weekend. Just wanted to let you know that, as an admirer of your blog, I have passed along a nomination of your blog for the Versatile Blogger award. You can find out the details on my blog.

    I hope it pleases you.

    Kind regards,

  4. Thanks a lot for the nomination Susan, it’s great to hear that somebody out there is enjoying my blog. I’m afraid that I won’t be eligible to recieve it though, due to the fact that I’m far too much of a slacker to fulfill the overly demanding acceptance criteria. Also, I’m still not quite understanding what I’d actually win?!? Nonetheless, cheers for thinking of my blog and please do keep visiting.

  7. Sure, all the shots on my blog are available to buy. Send me an email specifying what size and style print you would like. At the moment I could offer you a limited edition A2 canvas print of the Cathedral in monochrome for €150, A2 matte print for €100, A3 matte print for €80 euros, and an A4 print for €50. Postage is free within Ireland, or if you live around Galway city I could deliver it to you. I hope that helps, I’m always happy to sell my work to somebody that enjoys it.

  8. These are great shots and have made it clear that I’ve made the right decision to study in Ireland for 4 weeks starting in June. I’ll actually be studying in Galway! I can’t wait to experience it’s pure beauty for myself. It seems just magical! :)

  9. Thanks a whole lot, I’m sure you’ll have a lovely stay. Hopefully we actually get ourselves a summer this year to bring a little more magic to the place! Give us a shout when you’re about if you need any help discovering the best of Galway.

  10. You have a good eye and it clearly shows in your pictures. I’m interested in getting into photography myself (focusing mainly on food & travel). Any suggestions on cameras, as I am totally clueless.

  11. Thanks very much for the compliment, I really enjoyed reading your food blog and you also convinced me to finally try out wa cafe, which was great! I’ve been taking pictures with my canon 450d since the end of 2008, and I’ve no complaints so far, though I’d really like to get my hands on a canon 60d when I’ve got a bit of spare cash so I can start taking videos n’ all. The 450 is only 12 million megapixels, but despite what the camera manufacturers tell you that’s more than enough for most people’s purposes, including my own. You could probably get yourself a real good deal on a 450 as it’s been replaced by a few newer models since I got it. To anybody getting into photography I’d always recommend getting an slr and shooting in manual mode and you’ll soon get the hang of it. For food photography I’d avoid using flash if at all possible by getting myself a mini tripod or a lens with a large aperture such as my canon 50mm prime f1.8.

Well I hope that helps rather than confuses you, and good luck with the photography and keep up the great food blogging.
